Life was good for the horses. Foals were common. Food and water were readily available. Nothing, it seemed, could disturb them.
Then drought struck. Quickly, the once bountiful land was stricken, its resources ravaged. The water dried up, the food all died. The horses were forced to move on, to find another way to support themselves. All but a few left. The few stragglers struggled to survive, stunted in growth. Life in the lands became a stagnant dream, a constant struggle for survival.
It was many years later when the rains returned. The lands have recovered, and the survivors will get to experience, for the first time, a normal life.
But change is afoot. New horses are coming, and the natives are finding themselves accosted by new ways and new foes. It's a time of change for all, as the natives attempt to keep the life they've forged, and the newcomers complete their exodus and attempt to build a life here.

The disease spreads and touches the far corners of their world, it's almost inescapable. This isn't a normal disease though. It's known to cause abnormalties in a horse the world has never seen, or turn them into a monster. They could sprout wings, turn into water, spread flames by the touch, or even die on contact. It can completely change a horse, turn a light to dark, or a dark to light, but most of the time, it reacts like you'd expect: The horses grow sick, can't move, and die. Horses must overcome this, and while this goes on, conflict between the dark herd arises against all other herds, light & nuetral. Can you survive?
